ZOD Memorial Library Launches Free eLibrary in Lagos

ZOD Memorial Library Launches Free eLibrary in Lagos
Zaccheus Onumba Dibiaezue Memorial Library (ZODML) based in Lagos has recorded another first in Nigeria. This private library recently inaugurated her elibrary. This is in addition to all other services offered by the Library.

According to Mrs. Ifeoma Esiri, Co-Chair and member of ZODML’s Board of Trustees, six primary schools and four secondary schools within Ikoyi, Lagos State have been equipped with books, computers and other facilities free of charge. Mrs. Esiri noted at the launch of the online library, that the project was central to the achievement of ZODML’s mission.

ZODML, a non-for-profit organisation, was set up in memory of Z.O Dibiaezue  to provide students and general readers access to resources offline and online for education purposes.

Other dignatories present at the launch include Mrs. Ayo Obe, a civil rights crusader and ZODML trustee.

The online library coul dbe accessed via http://www.zodml.org/ and it is available 24/7 to all Nigerians free of charge. On the website is a catalogue of past question papers for high school students and a variety of writings by Nigerian authors.

I recommend this elibrary to all students and more importantly to public libraries to emmulate. This institution indeed need a lot of support to create more important in the society.

Create Nice Quizzes Using "Learn Click"

“Learn Click is a nice tool for quickly creating simple online quizzes. The format for the quizzes is fill-in-the-blank with a couple of extras that you can't add to offline quizzes. When you format your quizzes in Learn Click you have the option to add a drop-down menu from which students can select words to use in the quiz. Another nice option is the ability to add a "hint" pop-up for students to access. As the designer of the quiz you can specify what the hint is.” This post originally appeared on Free Technology for Teachers.

FUMSI Article: An app for every occasion

FUMSI Article: An app for every occasion
I invite you to read this beautiful write-up titled FUMSI Article: An app for every occasion.

People are fantastic at problem solving on the fly. I recently heard about a
group of print engineers who do exactly that using their mobile phones.
The engineers mend printing machines on organisational premises and work
alone. If they come across a problem that they cannot fix with the aid of a
manual, they need access to a colleague in the know. Pre-mobile this would mean
leaving the job and heading back to the office, delaying the completion of the
job. Nowadays they simply take a photo and email it out to colleagues for a
quick answer.
It would take minimal effort to build a store of photos and answers to act as
a central resource and learning tool for new engineers. It goes without saying
that it would be searchable via a mobile site or app.
For BlackBerry users, BBM is a quick, easy and free way to set up a
community. While the information exchanged cannot be captured centrally, it does
offer a very effective way to connect people to people, as thousands of
teenagers will confirm.
